Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I discovered some repair concerns on my roof that I needed to get taken care of quickly in a short amount of time. Olympus was prompt, courteous, and thorough. They walked me through everything they were doing and charged a fair price. I'll definitely be keeping in touch for roofing projects in the future.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We were advised to look into a new roof after the closing of our home. We met with Christian who was friendly, honest & didn’t waste our time on a long drawn-out sales pitch. The company provides good rates & we will be returning to them for any/all future roofing needs.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I called Olympus Roofing for a roof replacement quote. Christian Carlson came out to inspect it. He took the time to do a thorough inspection. He checked my attic space and took drone shots of my roof. Christian was completely honest and told me a total replacement wasn’t necessary even though another company said it was. You don’t find this level of honesty and integrity much these days. It’s rare to find a contractor you can trust. When I do need a new roof, this is the only company I am calling.

What is Copper?

Copper is a shiny, reddish-brown metal. It’s an element on the periodic table and is found naturally in the earth. It is soft and highly malleable, meaning it can be shaped into any design you want. When installed on a roof, it can be made to look like brick, tile, shingles, and much more.

Types of Copper Roofing

While copper roofing looks great on any building and can be molded into any design you want, there aren’t many types of copper-specific roofing, and each one has its own intended purposes.

Continuous

Continuous copper roofing is manufactured and cut precisely for the job. It’s installed without joints, seams, or other breaks. It’s the most expensive option because it involves the most time and effort to manufacture and install to exact specifications.

Copper Panels

Copper panels are cut in standard widths and installed with joints and seams. Sometimes the seams are crimped together, and other times they’re welded together during installation. It is less expensive than continuous copper roofing.

Copper Shingles

Copper shingles are low in cost and can be installed like other shingles. They’re secured with fasteners to prevent a reaction during contact with other metals. They’re elegant, stately, and look great on any home.

Advantages of a Copper Roof

Increased curb appeal

One of the primary benefits of using copper as a roofing material is its curb appeal. Its bright copper color shines brilliantly from afar, making your home stand out. It increases your home’s resale value and assures new buyers that they are getting a sturdy, long-lasting roof.

Durability

Copper is very strong and durable, being able to withstand the harshest weather conditions. Thanks to its durability, copper roofing will last for fifty years or more with regular professional repairs and maintenance.

Lightweight

Copper roofing is very lightweight, so it minimizes the stress you put on your home’s frame, which is critical during heavy snowfall like we see in Sandy and Salt Lake City every winter. The lightweight composition of copper roofing also makes it cheaper to install.

Impervious to mold, rot and fire

Copper has natural anti-microbial qualities that prevent it from growing algae, bacteria, mold, and other fungi. It’s also fire-proof, which is another significant advantage to all types of metal roofing.

Environmentally friendly

One of the most appealing things about metal roofing is its recyclable properties and the fact that it’s replenishable, sustainable, and eco friendly.
