Is there a difference between a re-roof and a roof replacement?
There are different options when it comes to replacing your roof. The first option is a complete tear-off roof replacement, which involves completely removing your existing roof before installing a new one. Another option is to re-cover your existing roofing system with a brand new one. We only recommend doing this once as most building codes do not allow more than two layers of roofs. If your roof requires structural repairs, then we would also recommend a complete tear-off replacement.
When is the best time to replace a roof?
The best time to replace a roof is from April to November. In some cases, we can replace a roof in the winter, but only if the weather is clear and above 40 F.
How do I know if it’s time for a re-roof?
Most people in our area will replace their roof from old-age or natural wear-and-tear. If you can see damage from the ground, then we recommend scheduling an inspection to evaluate your roof. From there, we can recommend whether or not it’s best to replace or repair your roof.
How many layers of roofing shingles can I have?
Our state building codes only allow up to two layers of shingles.
